After a wet morning in Ushuaia collecting our waterproofs & wellies, a visit to the Museum El Fin del Mundo, (the end of the world), and a light lunch, we finally
got to board the Grigory Mikheev @ 14:00.

With a hearty welcome from one of the guide/lecturers, Martin Gray, with the comment, "Excellent, some english speaking guests!' in a rough scottish accent,
we immediately felt at home aboard what would be our 'hotel' for the next 12 days.

At 17:00, everyone was called down to the dining room, by what would become a trade mark, "Phhh Phhh", blow over the tannoy, by the Ship Purser/Hotel Manager,
Phil Douse, (one of the nicest, laid back Australians you could ever wish to meet).

The Expedition Leader, Monika Schillit from Germany, extended a warm welcome, and introduced the crew who would be looking after us.
First up was Phil, who told us about the facilities on board, then  brought forward Renso Jansen & Peter Vanderwilt, (The Netherlands),
who we were later to discover were excellent chefs.
Monika introduced the rest of the expedition guides, Frits Steenhuisen, (The Netherlands), the aforementioned Martin Gray, (Scotland) and Remy Marion, (France),
who was escorting a party of french guests.
