The Great White Continent

2 January 2005 Humpback Whales
Prev Home Next

After we departed from Deception Island and started heading south to the north-western Peninsula we encountered a pair of Humpback whales.
They didn't seem at all concerned by our close proximity to them, and even appeared to be putting on a show!
Whilst most sensible people stayed up in the warmth of the bridge, a few photographic nutters, myself included, suffered the pouring rain on the bow,
to get as close as possible for that perfect shot!
